VW introduces face-lifted Touran

07 August 2006

A face-lifted Volkswagen Touran is on the way and is tipped to make its first appearance at the Paris Motor Show in September.

The updated Touran will use the latest Volkswagen grille - a prominent design feature that has already been seen on other models such as the latest Passat.

The existing engines are likely to be carried over unchanged, including the economical new turbocharged, supercharged 1.4-litre petrol engine developing 138bhp.

The Touran won't be the only new seven-seater at the Paris Motor Show. Citroen will pull the wraps from its all-new C4 Picasso, which goes on sale towards the end of this year and slots in between the five-seater Xsara Picasso and full-size C8 people-carrier.

Volkswagen will unveil a new coupe concept at the end of the month called the Concept S, and it, too, could be at the Paris show.

The Concept S shows what the forthcoming Scirocco coupe should look like. Come back to whatcar.com on August 24 to get a first look.
