The VW Passat CC is now available with a performance-enhancing and fuel-saving seven-speed DSG sequential-shift gearbox.

Costing £1243, the gearbox is available on cars powered by the 160bhp 1.8 TSI engine.
The Passat CC 1.8 TSI 160 DSG accelerates from 0-62mph in 8.5 seconds, averages 38.7mpg and has CO2 emissions of 172g/km.

An identical car fitted with a standard manual gearbox will manage 0-60mph in 8.6 seconds, average 37.2mpg and emit 180g/km of CO2.

Despite improved economy and emission figures, they are not sufficient to make the car eligible for a lower rate of VED road tax.
