Parksafe

The Parksafe car park concept (www.parksafesystems.com) certainly takes security seriously. With a combination of CCTV, movement sensors, panic buttons, entry doors and bar-coded tickets, Parksafe has managed to eradicate crime at its sites.

It is the only car park company in the UK to guarantee that both vehicles and their contents will be protected against crime and, along with this year’s What Car? Security Award, its sites have also won the accolade of being among the world’s top 10 most secure buildings – a list which includes Fort Knox.

Electronic gates mean that only people wanting to park their cars can enter. Motorists are issued with a ticket upon entering the site, and then secure their parking bays by punching a code into a machine which activates movement sensors. If the car is moved without the ticket, an alarm is triggered and the gates are automatically locked. Cars are also watched by cameras.

Owners returning on foot can only gain access to the car park using their ticket. This deters opportunistic thieves and makes the car park safer for vulnerable users.
