What Car? guide to portable sat-nav - Clarion MAP360

24 November 2006
Cost £400
For Easy to fit, with plenty of adjustment
Against Can be a little slow
Verdict A straightforward, no-nonsense unit

If you're partial to McDonalds, the Clarion will suit you nicely - every restaurant is marked with a large M on the map. There's huge detail: every post box is marked and car dealerships and different restaurants are all named on the map. There's a predictive function and speed limits are shown with an icon on screen, but the unit can be a bit slow to recognise changes in the car's location.

The system is pretty easy to use, but if you need to check the manual you'll need to consult a DVD.
