What Car? guide to portable sat-nav - GARMIN nuvi360

24 November 2006
Cost £479
For Easy to use, well laid-out menu
Against You have to select the country every time
Verdict Plenty of information but lacks speed camera warning

We found this one of the easiest models to use, with a big touchscreen, well laid-out menu screens and a helpful predictive function. It's also one of the lightest and most compact, and would easily fit into a pocket. However, you need to select the country of your destination every time you switch the unit on.

Extra features include a language and travel guide, an MP3 player, photo store, currency converter and Bluetooth technology.

On the road there are few points of interest labelled and the unit was unable to locate two restaurants we looked for. There's no speed camera warning, but you can get traffic information with the optional receiver.
