What Car? guide to portable sat-nav - Via Michelin X-950T

For Travel guide extract is useful
Against Too slow searching for destinations
Verdict Not bad, but you can get better for your money

Via Michelin hopes to tempt buyers with its free real-time traffic info and its Michelin travel guide extracts. These are useful features, but it's not at all intuitive to use. It will only use a partial postcode search and during our test it took an age to find our destination. There's no predictive function, either. Once your route is displayed there are no road names but an icon showing what to do at the next junction was useful and easy to see at a glance.
