A: The latest standard for child-seat safety is ECE R4403 but this includes no specific test for flammability. However, all child-seat manufacturers must state that the materials used conform with the same European standards for flammability as the materials in cars. Random tests are carried out to ensure this requirement is being met. On that basis, a child seat should be as flame resistant at the interior of a car.
