What Car? Q&A - Can I retro-fit an extra row of seats?

Q: I am looking to buy an old-shape Mercedes ML270 CDI for around £15,000. Most of the examples I can find seem to come without the optional family pack. Can this third row of seats be fitted retrospectively if I buy a five-seater?
