What Car? Q&A - Discount on new VW Polo

07 July 2005
Q: I am thinking of buying the new face-lifted Polo as a run-around. What discount, if any, should I be looking for on a VW 1.2 S three-door?
Andrew Stewart

A: There are two versions of the 1.2-litre engine you’re considering – one with 54bhp and the other, Whatcar.com’s favourite, with 64bhp.

What Car? Target Price mystery shoppers reckon you should be able to get at least 4% off either. This means you really shouldn’t be paying any more than £8500 for the 54bhp car or £8905 for the more powerful model, saving up to £345.

You can find the Target Price of any new car on sale at Whatcar.com by selecting the make and model you’re interested in, or by clicking on the Target Price logo on the homepage.

The face-lifted Polo only went on sale in June, so there aren’t any other offers available on the car yet. If you’re buying in a couple of months’ time, it will be worth checking Whatcar.com’s Hot Deals pages to see if incentives have been launched to stimulate more sales.
