What Car? Q and A - Heart set on a Honda

03 November 2005
Q: When is Honda planning to replace the current S2000 model? I’m interested in buying one but will hang on if it is planning to change it soon.
Gary Squires

A: Honda tells us a revised S2000 will be launched in January 2006. Mechanically, the only change is the addition of a new drive-by-wire system, which they say will enable better throttle control and improved engine management. We understand that the 237bhp VTEC engine of the current model will remain unchanged.

The dash gets an outside temperature gauge and the interior has undergone some minor tweaks. The body colour options will also include Deep Burgundy metallic and Bermuda Blue pearlescent, with the addition of newly designed 17-inch 10-spoke alloys to the options list.

However, Honda confirmed that an all-new model to replace the S2000 will go on sale within the next few years.
