Q: I have just purchased a Saab 9-3 2.0 convertible and have lost the keys. I have no spare key or key number. What do I do?

A: You’ll need to prove that you own the car with the registration documents, which should be in your name now that you’ve bought it.

Take this proof of ownership, together with some form of identity and the VIN number of the car to a dealership and they’ll be able to provide you with a new key – at a price.

It’s likely to cost £100 at the very least to get the new keys.

Alternatively, you can try a reputable locksmith for a new set. Visit the Master Locksmiths Association’s website at www.locksmiths.co.uk to find one in your area.
