What Car? Q&A - Help on headlamp converters

02 June 2005
Q: I have a Suzuki Ignis. I cannot find any information on positioning headlamp beam converters for Continental motoring. Can you help me?
A Ronald

A: Headlamps on right-hand-drive cars need to be adapted for the Continent so that they don’t dazzle oncoming traffic. In most cases all that’s required is some black masking solution or tape over the headlamp covers to block out some of the beam.

There could be information in your car’ handbook detailing what work needs to be done. If not, you’re likely to get all the answers you need from your local dealer. Outlets such as Halfords should also sell kits which allow you to do all the work you need.
