A: Current models are the Land Rover Discovery, Land Rover Defender, Mitsubishi Shogun, Nissan Pathfinder, Nissan Patrol GR, Nissan Terrano, Ssangyong Rexton, Suzuki Grand Vitara, Tata Safari, Toyota Land Cruiser and Volvo XC90.

This September’s new ML from Mercedes will come with the option of rearward-facing occasional seats in the boot, while Audi’s Q7, arriving late in the year, will be a dedicated seven-seater. The next-generation BMW X5, likely to break cover towards the end of 2006, is also rumoured to be a seven-seater, while Jeep is also planning a new model to sit above the Grand Cherokee.
