Q: Is Nissan planning a replacement for the X-Trail in the near future?

A: Nissan has lots of off-road product plans, including a new X-Trail in around 2007. The Zaroot concept, shown at the Geneva Motor Show this March, gives an idea of what the front end of the car could look like. The gull-wing doors of the concept aren’t likely to feature on any production car, however.

Before then, the company will launch a smaller 4x4, which is a part replacement for the Almera small family car (a small MPV called the Tone is another). This car will takes its cues from the Qashqai concept and goes on sale at the end of 2006.
