What Car? Q&A - Is this Grande Punto a bargain?

26 October 2007
Q: Please could you advise if £8595 is a good price for a Fiat Grande Punto 1.4 Eleganza 3dr. The car has been stored at the dealership for several months, but only has 45 miles on the clock.
Susan Wheeler

A: Although the car is as new, and only has delivery mileage on the clock, you can expect a big discount. This is because you won’t technically be the first owner – the dealership will be. Cars sold in this way are known as pre-registered, or pre-reg models.

£8295 is a good price – it’s almost £2000 less than the price you’d find in a Fiat broker. However, we’ve found better.

Visit Uknewcars.com and you can pick up a 1.4 Eleganza for £7826 – a massive £2424 less than the list price. You can also try showing this figure to your dealer and ask if he will come down in price to beat it.
