What Car? Q&A - What’s a Will?

08 December 2005
Q: The other day we saw a small silver car with a body very similar to the Citroen C2. The name on the back looked like Will but there was no manufacturer badge on the front. Any ideas?
Sue Pethybridge

A: The car you spotted was the Will Vi, sold in Japan. It's part of the Toyota family, and the Will brand is aimed at young female drivers.

It is claimed that everything a driver could want comes as standard, and the only options which can be specified when the car is ordered are a choice of stereo and the optional folding canvas roof.

The car uses lightweight components and simple design to keep its weight down and improve efficiency.

Currently the car is only sold in Japan, and Toyota UK says there are no plans to import the model. The car you saw was probably a personal import.
