What Car? Q&A - When is the new Honda Jazz due?

09 November 2007
Q: Do you know when Honda will be replacing the Jazz? I want to buy a new car and like the Jazz, but don't want to buy one now and find it becomes outdated in a few months' time.
David Lee

A: Honda has told us that a new Jazz will go on sale in the UK in late 2008. So, if you buy the current one now, you'll have a year before it's replaced.

Launch dates are often pushed back, though, so we wouldn't be surprised if it's early 2009 before the first cars are delivered.

If you can wait a bit, the new Jazz will probably work out as a better investment. This is because newer models generally hold their value better than the ones on the way out.

The next-generation Jazz should come with a range of new powerplants - 1.3- and 1.5-litre petrol units have already been confirmed for the Japanese market, and we expect to see the same engines offered in the UK.
