Q: I am about to sell my much-loved roadster due to an expanding family. Friends have told me that I will get more money for it if I wait until the summer to sell. Is this true?
Jeremy ReedeA: Seasonal variations don’t affect car prices in the way they used to. Having said that, more people tend to long for a soft-top when the sun starts shining, so you may well find it easier to find a buyer during the summer months. Bear in mind that the longer you wait the less your car will be worth, and avoid selling around the time of the new registrations when the used car market is saturated with trade-ins.
