What Car? Q&A - Where can I get a radio security code?

Q. I am the owner of an Audi 80, and recently had to change the battery. As a result, the radio won't work. I've been told there is a security number to allow the radio to work again, but I don't know where to get it.

A: Take a note of the chassis number of the car and the serial number of the stereo - both should be in your handbook, but they're also on the car and radio themselves.

Give Audi call (0870 010 5671), or pop into your local dealer, and they should be able to give you the code. There are also websites where you can get codes for stereos, but you'll have to pay.
