Q: I bought a TomTom Go 510 for a European driving holiday and recently gave it a quick trial on a run down to Le Mans. As soon as I got to any town the directions stopped - is my system broken?
Giles RiceA: No, your system isn't broken. The Go 510 only comes loaded with major roads in Europe as standard, so it can't navigate you door-to-door like it can in the UK. It can bring you to a town in Europe, it just can't show you around once you get there.
You can buy additional mapping if you want to add this level of detail for your travels.
Prices range from £70 to £90 for individual country maps, but the combined maps of 16 Western European countries, at around £100, make much more sense, especially for your tour of the Continent.
