What Car? Q&A - Will Nissan bring Infiniti to UK?

17 June 2005
Q: On a recent trip to New York, I saw a car I had never heard of: the Infiniti FX. When I returned to the UK I did a little research and found out that the Infiniti brand is the luxury version of Nissan in the US. Are there any plans to sell them in the UK – in particular the FX?
Stephen Donnet

A: Nissan had hoped to bring Infiniti to the UK in the next few years, but currently plans have been put on hold while the potential of the brand is assessed. The Infiniti range contains executive saloons, coupes and 4x4s, all of which are powered by V6 or V8 petrol engines. This would make European running costs expensive. Currently Infiniti cars are sold in North America, and parts of Asia and the Middle East.
