What Car? Used Car of the Year - Introduction

Finding the right used car isn't easy, but our Used Car of the Year Awards should give you a helping hand.

The sheer number of models for sale can make the process seem more than a little daunting, but these awards should give you a head start and save you time and effort on forecourts.

As well as an overall Used Car of the Year, we also selected winners and runners-up in eight categories.

Choosing them was a team of judges who know the used car market inside out. They are well versed in cars that represent good value for money… and those that don't.

Throughout the process, our panel had to make tough decisions. Many good cars made it onto the shortlists, but the final winners really stood out from the crowd.

Mind you, just picking the best cars wasn't enough. Here, we also offer vital information about each winner and tell you what to pay.

Of course, you want a car that ticks all the boxes, but you don't want to pay over the odds for it.
