17 October 2008

  • Economic gloom continues
  • Good news on the forecourt, though
  • Psychedelic Mini celebrates

week_234

This week there's more economic gloom, as it was announced that the credit crunch could force car giants General Motors and Chrysler to merge.

Ford is also said to be considering selling its stake in Mazda.

We have got some good news, though, as we ponder a week that has seen the price of crude oil tumble to half that of the summer high.

Gordon Brown has also waded into the argument over forecourt prices; claiming fuel retailers are taking too long to pass on savings to motorists.

Finally, we join the Mini's 50th birthday celebrations with '60s pop-designer, Alan Aldridge. Have a look at the artist's unique paint job on one of the iconic cars.
