In the
GS, the combination of a V6 petrol engine and an electric motor is as much about performance as it is about good fuel economy and low emissions. Indeed, the car performs very well, with a 0-60mph time of less than six seconds.
Admittedly, some diesel-engined versions of the GS’s rivals can match (and, in many cases, beat) the GS’s economy, but it still incurs an impressively low level of company car tax, and its 37.2mpg average economy isn’t to be sneezed at.
Not only that, you get all that’s impressive about a Lexus:
superb build quality, high levels of equipment and the promise of excellent reliability and customer service.
Our only disappointments are that the car isn’t more engaging to drive and that the seats don’t give enough support.
