You have to really want an
LS, because it’s an extremely expensive way to go green, with the top models nudging £100,000 and even the ‘basic’ models not much cheaper.
All of which makes it rather hard to excuse the CVT gearbox, which can get itself confused and is a let-down when the rest of the hybrid powertrain is so good.
There’s certainly no faulting the car’ performance, and the low CO2 emissions are impressive – although the high list price means company car drivers will still have large monthly tax bills.
Last but not least, the car is also extremely refined and rides smoothly at speed, as well as being packed with equipment.
As well as all that, of course, there’s the promise of Lexus' excellent reliability and customer service.
