What hybrid Car? - Lexus RX

22 April 2010
The RX is like the GS, in that, although it can run for short periods on electric power alone, the electric motor’s main job is to support the V6 petrol engine. A fine job it does, too, giving the RX a 0-60mph time of less than 8.0 seconds.

What’s perhaps most amazing is that it also results in average economy of almost 45mpg and CO2 emissions of just 148g/km, equating to 17% company car tax liability.

That’s lower than any petrol-engined Ford Focus, which is mighty impressive for a two-tonne 4x4 – and much better than any of its rivals.

Best of all, there are no sacrifices. As well as all the excellent reliability and customer service you can expect of any Lexus, you also get superb build quality, very good refinement, loads of equipment and space for five.
