Earlier this week, we showed you the first pictures of Peugeot's 308 RC Z Concept Car - and you have voted overwhelmingly in favour of it.
90% of readers said they love the design - so it's good news that the 2+2 coupe is expected to go into production after it makes its public debut at the Frankfurt motor show this September.
It is touted as a potential Audi TT rival, not least because of its close resemblance to the iconic coupe.
Just 10% of respondents said they didn't like the car.
I think that if this went into production, it would be a hit.
It has the style and finally the quality to battle with other prestige marques. If they can make it drive and handle well, especially thanks to the use of aluminium and other weight-saving features, and make it reliable, the Peugeot can be a cheaper alternative to the established coupes, and maybe even embarrass them.
However, it would be better to simply remove those two rear seats, because I cannot see anyone fitting in them.
I’ve always been a fan of Peugeot's styling and I like the sleek look of this model. My only concern would be Peugeot's reputation regarding build quality.
However, as this is improving all the time, I see no reason why this couldn't be the car to raise the bar a notch or two.
If Peugeot is positioning the 308 RC Z as an Audi TT rival, I expect it will not be cheap - and this will be its problem.
Image aside, Peugeot has a poor reputation for build quality and reliability. This is borne out by surveys such as JD Power, as well as anecdotal evidence from just about everyone I know who has owned a Peugeot.
I would never part with £20,000 or more for a car from a maker with such a reputation.
