For A fine balance between comfort and agility. The DBS corners with a flat, secure attitude yet it also manages to finesse out road bumps with ease. As for the V12 - it's a peach.

Against The asking price of the DBS is a big step up from the near identical-looking DB9 and only the true connoisseur of Astons will spot the difference in style and performance.

Buyer's notes

Target Price team says:

Aston Martin's mission with the DBS was to make a car that James Bond would be pleased to drive. They have succeeded in spades and, even though the DBS shares a lot of its looks with its significantly less pricey sister, it's a world apart when it comes to dynamic ability.

Where the DB9 is an MI5 pen-pusher, the DBS is a full-blown secret agent in comparison when it comes to taking out corners. The ride is much more controlled and accomplished to let the suspension get on with the job of serving up superb grip.

Even so, the DBS is refined enough to take on long trips without leaving its occupants deafened. However, you'll need to send the luggage on ahead for any holidays as space is at a premium in the DBS, and we'd like more airbags as standard. Huge running costs come with this territory and the list price is a huge jump up from the DB9's.
