This is the best car small car i have ever owned, i use to own a MINI, i am i so glad i change, its a much bigger car, as well the quality is amazing the plastics in the car is outstanding and has a fantastic driving position. The running cost is another reason why you should buy this car i am never at the petrol station, i am already averaging about 60 mpg which is remarkable. The drive of the car is like you are driving a very up-market audi of a much bigger car. Overall i am extremely pleased with this audi and can't sing its praises enough, this car is well worth a consideration.
The 'Audi A1 Hatchback 1.4T quattro 3dr' is a fantastic little car. It combines traditional Audi build quality with the practicality of a small car. It is based upon a Polo, and uses VW engines, so running costs aren't too bad on the wallet. 45mpg is said to be the combined fuel consumption, pretty good for a petrol with this power. It has Audis famous quattro 4WD system, which gives great traction and can be used as a security blanket against the winter weather. 0-60 takes just 6.9 seconds; it outguns much more expensive metal, and surprises many a boy racer. With CO2 emissions of just 139g/km, tax is cheap. The DSG 'box is very hi-tech, but your better of leaaving it as a 7-speed auto for everyday driving. This car is a superb compromise of performance, practicality, stylishness and economy. There's no doubt that this is the most complete package for any hot hatch today, albeit an expensive one.
My wife has just taken delivery of a 1.6tdi Sport. A real quality item that feels like a far larger car than it is, very quiet and refined with a very high quality interior. Without trying and with only 300 miles on the clock the car is already averaging around 58mpg - remarkable.
What’s it like to drive? - Quiet and smooth in all ways. Engine, wind and road noise are all well subdued. Engine is very smooth, quiet and responsive. The stop/start system is excellent and works unobtrusively. The ride is a little on the firm side but the suspension works silently and the car is never anything less than very comfortable. Also the softer “dynamic” suspension from the SE model can be specified on the Sport. Certainly corners very well, so the fun factor is there too. Running costs - This car would also be cheaper to run than my current Seat Ibiza as Insurance, Road Tax (£30 a year rather than £125) and fuel consumption (55mpg overall rather than 47mpg) are all cheaper. Quality, practicality & equipment – superb, with high quality, tasteful materials used throughout the cabin. I can adjust the driver’s seat to suit myself and then sit behind it in reasonable comfort and I’m not small. Rear headroom is a little tight but would be perfectly OK for a smaller person. Boot space is also good unless the optional Bose sound system or luggage pack are specified as these reduce the boot depth. Equipment levels on the sport are good although some items on the lengthy options list look expensive to me. Overall - In a different league to any other supermini in my opinion, very classy. I don't care if it's based on a Polo as it feels very different. Also to be based on a car that was voted both European and World Car of the Year in 2010 doesn’t sound bad to me!
I have the standard take up model which I love as I'm 18 with a brand new car. This car is perfect in many ways as I can afford it by only working…
I bought this car a year ago after watching the video on here, and reading a few reviews on the car. My wife really liked the car so we bought it.…
