Audi A4 Saloon 2.0 TFSI quattro 211 Black Edi 4dr Review

For Over and above S line, Black Edition models have a unique design of alloy wheel, a DAB radio and a unique styling kit. As you'd expect from a car with the same engine as the VW Golf GTI, performance is strong.

Against There's a hefty jump in price over the 1.8 TFSI 170 engine, and we're not convinced this is worth it. Black Edition trim and 4WD also add to your costs, so be sure you need them.

Target Price team says:

You can expect a four-figure discount on an Audi A4, but even so residual values are among the strongest in the class, especially on the smaller-engined diesel models.

Audi is rightly renowned for its diesel models, and these are certainly the best engines in the range. However, do your sums carefully before buying one, as you’ll need to do a high annual mileage to recoup their higher (than the equivalent petrol models’) list prices through the lower fuel bills.

Similarly, we don’t think it’s worth paying for the most expensive models, unless you need their four-wheel drive, as they have the least impressive fuel economy and the lowest residuals.
