Fantastic car! The changes on the 2011 model make a massive difference and I can only assume that nobody at What Car has actually driven this car or lived with it for even a short period. It is packed with great technology, which makes Long trips effortless. Playback of my iPhone is via a great Bluetooth set up, the sat nav is great, the adjustments for off road or sporty drive can be left to switch automatically depending on your terrain and driving style and the fuel economy goes to over 40mog on motorway trips, unbelievable for a car this size. The issue with the tyres (like all premature tyre wear) is down to keeping the tyres inflated to the maximum pressure. It's a little annoying to have to keep checking the tyre pressure every few thousand miles but I have done almost 10,000 miles so far and the tread depths have hardly reduced.
I picked this car up about 2 weeks ago and have loved every mile so far (about 1500). I previosly had a TT so was a little worried that this would seem a little sluggish, however I have been proved very wrong. I have clearly had to adapt my driving style, but as the car doesn't roll like it's compeitition ( rangerovers etc) it still feels sporty when the car is in dynamic mode.
My second concern when moving up from the TT was the size of the car it however, it seems pretty easy to get a grip on where you are as your sitting higher up. Even though it is tight to get in most parking spaces, the parking sensor plus system actually makes it quiet easy. I have also noticed that people tend to stay away from you as the car is so big.
Overall I would say that I am very pleased with my decision. I spent just over 53k and for this money I could of had my pick on what 4x4 to drive. I know that some people would say a Range Rover sport has more pretige, but I feel that they are so common now that they are quickly becoming more "chavy". Also, when you actually get in a sport you will feel a little let down. The q7 is understated, yet very classy. People will respect you for not following the herd of city boys/footballers who drive round in Range Rover sports.
The spec that I got on mine and would say are all essential are: Tech pack high (better sat nav, electric tailgte, and the best blutooth system), Bose stereo, Audi MMi, Panoramic roof. Oh and the LED lights look just awe
i bought this car in march 08 since then i have had to put 3 sets of tyres on the front i have heard that they are supposed to wear the front tyres badly but not this badly the last set of tyres i got them fitted in july it is now october and i need another set of front tyres after over just 3 months took it to the Audi garage today asked if i got the wheels tracked when i got the new tyres fitted i said i had they then proceeded to tell me that only an Audi garage can track the wheels not any other tyre dealer because they wouldnt track them right they then wanted me to purchase 2 new front tyres so they could track the wheels of the car i refused and phoned the place were i bought the tyres Modern tyre service which told me that was news to them that they couldnt track Audi Q7 wheels so were do i go from here
I Have had this car now for 10 months 08 plate after 6ooo miles i needed 2 new front tyres (outside wear)and was told the same thing (im going round too many roundabouts)Rubbish. I had to pay for one of them and audi paid for the other, the dealer had my car for 5 days to do the realinement of the wheels?,i thought problem over, after another 4ooo miles 10,000 miles in total in a new car i need 2 more tyres for the front again, and at £200 per tyre that is if you buy them privatley and not from audi Was quoted up to £350.00 each. i dont care how nice this car is, i will be looking for a different make if audi do not put this problem right,Next stop Solicitor/then WATCHDOG, Watch this space
