My car

I had a test drive in one of these recently when my car was in for a service and it was simply awesome in every respect! It was only a 20 min drive but this was the best car I have ever driven, it was also practical, very easy to drive and coped with road conditions as any 'normal' car would.

David James, I can understand your frustration about getting stuck but the whole idea of these reviews is to give potential owners a balanced incitefull review of the car, don't rate a car with one star across the board you have no experience of because you got the hump! The review clearly states the criteria 'I own this car' OR 'I drive this car', it's not rocket science.........

My car

To readers of this R8 review - take no notice of Aaron Smith's and Tom Davies' comments - they are one and the same person and regularly contribute to rubbishing performance Audis, professing to think Mercedes for example, in his RS6 review, are the cars to buy. My assumption is Mr Smith/Davies MUST be retired (with plenty of time on his hands) because you would have to be to want a Merc. It's shame that there are people sad enough to waste other people's time who genuninely read these reviews for sound opinions and experiences...

My brother recently purchased an R8 and I have had the good fortune to drive it on regular occasions; it is quite simply the best car I have ever driven. He had a Porsche 911 previously which was great, but nowhere near as special as the R8. That 4.2 V8 is really one of the best engines around.

My car

I have owned the R8 for 7 months now and i have to say its the best car i have ever owned. The car has so much presence on the road, and im sorry but i have to disagree with the previous reviews, the audi is a much better looking car than a 911 and porsche are just so boring these days, and audi's interior is just unrivalled plus 911's are just too common on british roads..

My car

I have just enjoyed 6 months ownership of this fabulous car. Every day I've had it on the road its been photographed, and not by speed cameras!! Its a manual and as a driving proposition it is with out equal, a new motoring icon. Its not cheap to run, but its easy to live with everyday. Performance is sensational and entirely useable. Magnetic ride is a worthwhile option but forget the fancy sound system,listen to that V8 instead, real music!! In these days of financial meltdown just looking at the R8 will soothe your soul and driving it will lift your spirit.
