The Gran Coupe is targeted at the same guys who currently run high-end four door coupes such as the Mercedes-Benz CLS and Audi A7. It’s pricier to buy than both of those, though, so it’s more of a rival for the Porsche Panamera.
Okay, so the Gran Coupe may not have a Porsche badge on its nose and it could be argued it’s not such a bespoke vehicle either –it’s actually based on the same platform as the 5, 6 and 7 series models - but when you see it in the metal, it’s difficult not to be bowled over by the sheer quality of the car.
Choose a 640d and you will not believe it’s powered by diesel such is the refinement of the engine. Equally the combination of stunning performance and excellent economy make it the clear Gran Coupe of choice.
