    My car

Magnificent 2nd hand buy, bought an '08 plate 3.0D Sport, low mileage 22K, got everything but heated seats. The 7 series depreciates like the Titanic from new but at two years old is very good value compared with a 5 or 3 series 3.0D of the same age. Tried an '08 SE version and that is nowhere near as nice on the road as it wallows when progress is being made! Goes like a train, the harder you push it on the road the better it responds, quiet at all speeds, very responsive and progressive yet sensitive brakes, super auto gearbox, capacious cabin and boot. It's a long car so the parking sensors front and rear are very welcome! Best auto handbrake I have experienced i-drive OK but a bit fiddly and distracting if driving- get your 12 year old to manipulate it! Bluetooth spot on for both our phones. Economy OK on longer runs, fabulous non fatiguing to drive so really looking forward to it's first run to Italy this summer. Checked tyre prices and these are frightening! Love the fact that it has a full size alloy spare. But I bought it with full appreciation that it is an extravagant luxury buy and with eyes wide open- I dont expect it to be as cheap to run as the Golf TDi Sport we also have but its my choice to drive even to the tip! ( waste recycling centre). Compared with what cars you can buy new for £25K its the 730D Sport for me. Cheers,Piat

    My car

Well, as you can see I have rated this car very highly in all areas, my reasons are as follows: 1. The BMW 7 is renowned for heavy depreciation, however there are deals to be had at present and if you have your haggling head on you can aquire an ex demonstrator a few months old and a few miles for two thirds of the retail value (a serious alt to the new 530d M Sport). BMW really want this vehicle to have a presence on the road, as apart from the 6 series (Which is due a complete new model launch) it is their flagship. 2. At present, BMW are offering a FREE 5 year/60k service plan, this covers your normal servicing requirements. A plus as the servicing is programmed by the driver characteristics and you could find yourself visiting the dealership on regular intervals for various servicing items and numerous costs. 3. I have owned for just over 1 mth now, and have covered 4,000 miles, these miles have been effortless, comfortable and very enjoyable. I always feel like I could get back in the car and drive some more. 4. The styling of the M Sport, really does change the cars distinctive looks from the SE, I am 41 and do not wish to be regarded as over the hill with a cushion, tissue box and Panama hat on the rear shelf. If considering buying an M Sport, the 20" dble 5 spke alloys are an absolute must for the asthetic look. 5. Std spec is fantastic on the car, the options list just goes on and on though. My only regret is not having the soft close drs, this is real luxury.
