    My car

I bought the new Z4 due to it's striking & aggressive looks after enjoying my previous Z4 coupe. The interior is well built and laid out, sports seats comfortable, but there are a number of rattles from the roof & a few bad designs of the interior, like the seatbelt which rubs on the seats leather leaving unsightly marks & the manual seat adjustment makes seat adjustment difficult. The sound system is of a really poor standard with speakers that distort badly. However, the interior is impressive on the eye & passengers comment how stylish it is. Getting in behind the wheel & getting on the road is a different story, the car is easy & comfortable to drive, the electric power steering gives an artificial driving experience, the car sticks well to the road on corners & handles well. However, I just find the ride too similar to a sedan, gone is the raw exhaust note & the raw drive from the last model. The cars looks just do not seem to match the feel of the car which I find really disappointing. I also find the 2.5 engine is lacking performance, the engine really needs to be revved & the gears worked to move at speed. I just find the whole experience of owning the new Z4 quite boring. I would recommend the 3.0 if you really want a Z4, upgrade the seats to elec adjustment, & upgrade the sound system. I do feel the car has been improved from the previous model, but when I buy a sports car, I want the feel of a sports car which I have not got from the existing model.

    My car

Well, I drove it for a few days in different conditions and all that I can say is that ride isn't that good but forgiving for sports car. The thing that is unforgivable and I find it important enough to put final mark down very low is horrible interior. Vw golf IV is symbol of great interior for that crap. Come on BMW, people don't buy your cars for free, make an effort to make stylish sporty interior. Audi does ok job for its sport models. Basicaly, design of exterior is average for this class of cars, just like every BMW's representative in other classes.

    My car

I've had my sDrive 3.0i for 3 months and I've covered almost 5000 miles and I've fallen head over heals in love with it. I test drove the sDrive 2.5i and while the basic car was great I felt that it needed a touch more power, some thing my 3 litre car delivers. The overall performance of the car feels spot on appropriate for the car, effortless cruising and the ability to cover distances with ease when I'm not in a hurry, but the engine isn't so powerful that I can't really stretch it when I want to play. The fuel consumption is good for the type of car, I can get close to 40mpg on a motorway run and have averaged 34mpg since I got the car. However, on a fast blat using all of the available performance that figure rapidly reduces less than 20mpg. The other thing that is really well judged is the ride and handling. I did not specify the adaptive ride (one expensive option too far) but the suspension still absorbs the worst of the road 'imperfections' while still giving a flat, lean free stance through corners. I have found the overall fit and quality of the materials used to be excellent. The interior design works both ergonomically and looks fantastic. A few down sides, for the price some options really should be included as standard (Bluetooth phone connection and parking sensors to name two). The automatic transmission in "normal" mode is slightly too focused on fuel economy, it is possible that you find yourself at a roundabout in a high gear with low revs.
