Against It's not the roomiest or smoothest-riding small hatch, and the novel cabin introduces a few compromises for the driver: the profusion of digital instrument displays can be confusing.

The coupe version of the C4 comes only in one trim, the by Loeb edition that takes its name from Citroen's world champion rally driver. It's powered by a 1.6-litre petrol engine, but that's no bad thing, as it's our favourite engine in the C4 range.
Perhaps surprisingly, although the coupe's body is very different to that of its five-door hatchback sister, it has as much passenger room inside.
