For Spacious and practical cabin, and VTR+ trim offers a good blend of equipment and price. The smooth 1.6-litre diesel engine is economical and powerful enough.

Against The ride is too easily unsettled by lumps and bumps. This version misses out on the desirable equipment of Exclusive models.

The Citroen Grand C4 Picasso 1.6 e-HDi 115 VTR+ is a superb seven-seat MPV. It’s practical, good value and cheap to run.

Buyer's notes

Target Price team says:

There’s a choice of engines, gearboxes and trim levels, but we’d go for the 1.6-litre diesel with a manual gearbox in Exclusive trim. It’s powerful enough, even if there are seven people on board, the manual ’box is preferable to the slow and jerky ETG6 semi-automatic, and Exclusive is good value and comes with lots of desirable equipment as standard.

The 2.0-litre diesel version isn’t such a good buy. The engine is noisy, the abrupt power delivery is frustrating, and it’s available only in the more expensive trims, so doesn’t make as much financial sense.

There are lots of accessories available to make your Grand C4 Picasso even more versatile, including roof bars, a towbar and onboard Wi-Fi.

The Citroen Service plan is also worth considering; for a one-off payment, it covers all service costs for three years or 35,000 miles.
