I HAD AN '05 C6 AUTO COUPE, AND NOW OWN AN '08 C6 AUTO COUPE. THE '08 IS A VASTLY DIFFERENT CAR TO THE FIRST ITERATION OF THE C6 (2005 MODEL), AND QUALITY IS MUCH IMPROVED. POWER IS ALSO UP (NOW 436 HP WITH THE OPTIONAL EXHAUST SYSTEM, 430 HP STANDARD), THE AUTO BOX SHIFTS MUCH QUICKER, AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, THE VETTE'S STEERING HAS BEEN MODIFIED FOR '08: THE CAR HAS MUCH BETTER "ROAD FEEL", AND THE STEERING IS MORE LINEAR IN TERMS OF INPUT. CABIN QUALITY IS VASTLY IMPROVED TOO. I AVERAGE 25 MPG (PER AMERICAN GALLON, IE 3.8 LITRES) ON THE OPEN ROAD, BUT ONLY ABOUT 15 MPG IN TOWN. ALL IN ALL A FANTASTIC CAR TO OWN, AS OTHER RUNNING COSTS ARE NEGLIGIBLE. A 10,000 MILE SERVICE COSTS LESS THAN US$120 (ABOUT 60 POUNDS) HERE IN THE U.S. CONSIDERING IT'S RELATIVELY CHEAP U.S. PRICING (A "LOADED" EXAMPLE COSTING ABOUT US$ 58,000 OR 29,000 POUNDS), IT'S A PERFORMANCE "BARGAIN". IT'S NOT AS REFINED AS A PORSCHE C4S (WHICH I ALSO OWN), BUT IT'S MUCH MORE FUN TO DRIVE ON A DAILY BASIS. ONE THING THAT I CAN HIGHLY RECOMMEND IS THE "MAGNETIC SELECTIVE RIDE CONTROL", AS IT GIVES THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS: TRACK WHEN YOU WANT IT, AND COMFORT FOR EVERYDAY USE. A GREAT CAR, AND FUN TO OWN!
