For Fiat’s proven small turbodiesel engine finds a great home under the 500’s cool bonnet. Impressive 65mpg economy is possible, and this is the easiest 500 for longer trips. Lounge spec is fully loaded.
Against At over £13,000, it’s one of the most expensive 500s you can buy. The ride is still jittery, there's poor space in the rear and the engine can be a bit raucous when worked hard.

Lots of kit and excellent economy at a price. This is near the top of the range, yet it’s no quicker to 62mph than the entry-level 1.2-litre cars.
