For The MPW is longer than a standard 500L and has the option of seven seats. It looks distinctive and is pretty well equipped.
Against Rivals are more refined and better to drive, and the two rearmost seats in seven-seat versions are strictly for children – and even then only occasional use.

The Fiat 500L MPW offers the option of seven seats in a relatively compact package, but it’s too compromised to challenge the class leaders.

Target Price team says:
For many buyers, the way the 500L MPW (Multi Purpose Wagon) looks compared with more conventional seven-seat rivals will be enough to get it to the top of shopping lists. Viewed purely as a compact MPV, it is compromised, but as an interesting-looking school-run car, where the rearmost seats get only occasional use, it has appeal and merit.
Our favourite version is the lower-powered 1.6-litre diesel in Pop Star trim, which is cheap to run, quick enough and has a decent amount of equipment for the money.
