Buyer's notes

Target Price team says:

The Fiat Punto has been treated to several face-lifts during its life, but it’s essentially the same car that went on sale in 2005 badged ‘Grande Punto’.

There’s a bewildering range of engines to choose from, but to keep things cheap most buyers are best off going for the 76bhp 1.4 petrol. However, the 0.9 Twinair is worth considering if you want a practical and cost-effective way to avoid the London Congestion Charge.

We reckon Easy trim is the best compromise on price and equipment. You get air-conditioning and alloy wheels, but you still might want to consider paying extra for Bluetooth and side airbags.

Whichever model you choose, make sure you shop around, because big discounts are available. Our Target Price gives a good indication of how much you should expect to save, but even bigger discounts are available online.
