We bought the Ford Fiesta based on looks, professional reviews and my sleuthing for my parents. And what a Car she's been. To drive, the 1.3i Duratec engine copes very well with most situations thrown at her. She's reponsive, punchy and easily capable of keeping up with motorway traffic (indeed, pulling some rather racy maneuvers around the A13 of the Dartford Tunnel have proven a breeze!) The car is set up to be a drivers car, the steering has a weighty but still easy feel and the car responds perfectly to controls. Compared to our other family vehicle, our workhorse the Hyundai i30 1.4, the steering does feel considerably heavier, but that much better suits motorway journeys. In truth, this car is a wonderful motorway cruiser. Cruise control works flawlessly, the bluetooth system is very capable and advanced. All the gadgetry on this car is very well put together and advanced. The cabin does feel rather dark and cramped, especially compared to some rivals, but that enhances her "racey" feel.
The only two negatives are the lacking space, and the poor fuel consumption. Official figures say we should get some 47mpg, but we have struggled to get her above 35. For this reasoon alone, we are looking at switching to a Renault Diesel. If economy had no variance, we would never abandon this beautiful, powerful and easy car.
I have the standard take up model which I love as I'm 18 with a brand new car. This car is perfect in many ways as I can afford it by only working…
This, my second I10, is a better all round proposition than the 1.2 Classic Mark 1 that preceeded it. Fit, finish, paintwork and equipment is much…
