For One of the 'Individual' models in the range, the Metal is based on Zetec trim, but adds chrome handles, silver alloy wheels and leather trim on the steering wheel and gear lever, and various chrome details in the cabin. The diesel engine give more flexibility than the petrol unit, as well as better economy and lower emissions.
Against Unless you're completely sold on this package, you'll probably think the basic Zetec car is better value.
As with any of the Inidividual models, whether you like this is very much a matter of personal taste. For us, though, the regular Zetec model is the better buy
On paper, both of the Ford Ka engines offer pretty similar performance; but, while the diesel is more flexible, the rev-hungry petrol is more fun to drive. Perhaps most importantly, the petrol is available in a wider range of models, and for much less money, which is enough to make it our favourite.
Compared with the Fiat 500, with which the Ford Ka shares much, the baby Ford is sharper to drive, but not that well equipped. However, in common with Fiat, the Ford has a whole variety of options that allow you to personalise your Ka, on top of four 'Indivdual' models in the range, all with bespoke interior and exterior styling. Tick the right boxes on the options list and you should be able to ensure that your Ford Ka is - quite literally - unique.
