For The Ford Ka is more fun to drive than the Fiat 500 it's based on and passably practical for a small car. Less chic than the Fiat, but not without charm.
Against Overpriced and under-equipped. There's a diesel option, but it makes no economic sense with UK taxation.
The Ford Ka is cute and fun to drive, but the relatively high price may put some people off.
On paper, both of the Ford Ka engines offer pretty similar performance; but, while the diesel is more flexible, the rev-hungry petrol is more fun to drive. Perhaps most importantly, the petrol is available in a wider range of models, and for much less money, which is enough to make it our favourite.
Compared with the Fiat 500, with which the Ford Ka shares much, the baby Ford is sharper to drive, but not that well equipped. However, in common with Fiat, the Ford has a whole variety of options that allow you to personalise your Ka, on top of four 'Indivdual' models in the range, all with bespoke interior and exterior styling. Tick the right boxes on the options list and you should be able to ensure that your Ford Ka is - quite literally - unique.
