For The S-Max offers sharp handling and a comfortable ride. It also has a practical interior, and is refined and keenly priced.
Against Cheaper models miss some very desirable equipment, and the rear pair of seats are best suited to kids. The 2.5-litre engine is thirsty, too.
An MPV that requires little compromise. It looks the part, drives well and does what you want of it. Brilliant.
As you might only expect of a model that's designed to haul around a car-load of people, the S-Max is at its best with a diesel engine - in this case, the 2.0 TDCi 140.
