i have this car about a month, have got over 65 m p g from first calculation i dont find it slow, it overtakes very safely with a very good burst of speed without having to change down from 5th unless space is tight. i carry a labrador dog in the boot for walks, plenty of room for him rear seats fold to give good carrying space if required i am very pleased with it as a replacement for an ageing 1400 TDCI fusion zetec the engine is sweet, just having its first 12500 mile service dealership is first class. Love elec folding mirrors when garaging it Lovely modern shape and shiny red is great ESP ALL ROUND DISC BREAKS 4 ELEC WINDOWS ETC ETC GOOD VALUE

Excellent value for money Bought the diesel in April '10, with rear parking sensors and towbar. My main motivation to get the diesel model was to save on running costs and because depreciation is lower, better resale values. The official fuel consumption figures are at least what you can expect, with up to 80 MPG on long motorway stretches (I am a fairly relaxed driver though). What I like best about the car are the detailed adjustments to the seating position, including raising or lowering the entire seat, and the height and depth of the steering wheel. I used to get a stiff back on long stretches, that is now a thing of the past. Refinement is excellent, and so is the audio system, the mp3 system is very elegantly worked out. The six speaker comfort has a lot fuller sound than the classic I drove for a test drive. As some reviews have stated, you don't want to choose this engine if you're looking for a very sporty car, but it's not sluggish either and provides enough power for overtaking maneuvers when the turbo kicks in, and its very torqy, need less gear changing than in my previous 1.8 diesel fiesta. Extra features of the comfort spec are really worthwhile, usb is nice and electric folding mirrors are really useful on narrow country roads or narrow garages. The i20 is quite wide which gives it a very pleasant solid feeling to drive, with the elevated seat position a bit of an SUV feeling. Negatives- rearview mirror vibrated annoyingly, was fixed by dealer

    My car

I bought my I20 1.4 Diesel on 17th April. Out of the 24 days i have owned it, i have only driven it for 5 days. From day one (only 2 miles after leaving garage) i had smoking rear brakes. This was put down to incorrect adjustment. Then i had all four brakes binding on, so the ABS pump was replaced. Then i had the front and rear diagonally opposite brakes binding on. This time Hyundai head office thinks its the Servo, but the local dealership think its the master cylindar. Because of Hyundai's warranty rules, they can only order the part that Hyundai suggests, and then (after fitting that part) can they order the part they believe to be at faul. Both parts are on back order in India (i am 3rd in line for a replacement servo), and there is no ETA on when these will be built or shipped to me. I have had such a dreadful experience buying my first new car that i am put off for life! My old banger was more reliable than this lemon!!! Beware of brake problems in the I20, and don't let the garage just fix the symptom without looking at the source of the problem. For those who said that their discs were warped - I think you need to demand a closer look for the cause, as it could be the same problem as mine.
