For This may be the weakest diesel engine in the XF, but it's still more than up to the job and returns over 40mpg on the combined cycle. A Bowers and Wilkins stereo comes as standard.
Against You have to put with slightly less performance than with the stronger diesel engine - and without the attraction of better fuel economy.
This is our favourite engine in the XF. But, Luxury spec gives you everything you need for several thousand pounds less than this Portfolio model.
As you might expect of a former What Car? Car of the Year, there's not much to criticise about the XF. However, some may find the lack of smaller - and therefore cheaper to run - engines rather a disappointment. Prices for the range may look a little on the high side, but they're partly explained by the generous equipment list that means there's no need to buy anything dearer than the cheapest Luxury version.
There are a huge range of options available, including a rear-view camera and adaptive cruise control. You can also choose from a particularly wide selection of exterior colours and interior trim.
