As you might expect of a former What Car? Car of the Year, there's not much to criticise about the XF. However, some may find the lack of smaller - and therefore cheaper to run - engines rather a disappointment. Of the engine range, the V6 and V8 petrol units are certainly impressive, but it's the punchy and refined diesels that are our favourites.
Prices for the range may look a little on the high side, but they're partly explained by the generous equipment list that means there's no need to buy anything dearer than the cheapest Luxury version.
