Target Price team says:
Unlike most Jeeps, the Jeep Compass is available with both front- and four-wheel drive.
Even four-wheel-drive models send all of their power to the front wheels in normal driving conditions to help fuel economy; it’s only when wheel slip is detected that power automatically goes to the rear as well.
You can, however, lock the system in all-wheel-drive mode by pulling a lever between the front seats. This divides the power equally between the front and rear to maximise traction when off-roading.
Every Compass comes with a three-year/60,000 mile warranty that covers unlimited mileage for the first two years.
