For This version comes with a powerful diesel engine, and comes with luxury kit including heated leather seats and Bluetooth with voice control.
Against This version is very expensive - far more than you'd want to pay for a Ceed.
A nice car in its own right, but far too expensive to recommend.
The Cee’d made Kia a serious contender in this competitive sector at a stroke. Buy one and you’re unlikely to be disappointed - it has plenty of appeal as sensible, practical and well-priced family transport, and it has a hugely reassuring seven-year warranty.
Whether in five-door hatch or SW estate form, the Cee’d doesn’t have any major flaws, although it doesn’t beat the competition in any one area. It’s good to drive, with light, direct steering, but it’s not as entertaining as a Focus; it’s well made, too, but still some way behind a Golf.
A range of engines - all good - is available, although the 114bhp 1.6 diesel is the pick of the bunch. That said, company buyers may be interested in the Ecodynamics model, which has a stop/start system to cut emissions.
Safety kit is comprehensive, which will reassure family buyers, and few will find the cabin offensive - it’s well put together, if a little bland.
